Our challenge is to ensure an efficient and direct implementation. Carrying out an analysis of the processes and specific needs, we design a personalized roadmap, which will be constantly reviewed to reduce the transit time as much as possible and obtain the return on investment as soon as possible. BIM is a methodology open to adaptation, but its implementation does not make sense if it does not have a consequence in cost savings, either through saving resources, or through the reduction of times in the project or working phases. In addition, each company has its own reasons for implementation, as well as its needs for software and customized tools that allow it to enhance the advantages of working in BIM. It is our main objective to detect and implement them in an agile way.
At arxproject we have always focused on services to bussines and therefore we know that the requirement of a BIM model nowadays can be a burden that needs to be solved correctly to respond in terms of qualit. But in these cases the efficiency and the resources savings in general are essential. The scrupulous checking of the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) by our BIM Managers is what makes us comply all the project requirements, but also that we do not overdo it wasting time and money on it. We adapt our work to any type of software, Autodesk Revit, Inventor, Navisworks, Solibri, Solidworks…and we handle many visualization tolos such as 3d Studio Max, Sketchup o Enscape that helps us to explain the Project to those skateholders without a technical profile.
Within the BIM work environment, the term Scan to BIM is
linked to any project that starts from a more or less complex existing asset. With
3D laser measurement technology, data is quickly collected and a point cloud is
obtained with an accuracy that far exceeds any traditional survey. Combined
with the model, this point cloud allows us to work from the office on the real
state of the space. This data collection system is even used to monitor the
progress of a work, to know precisely what its final result should be or even
to audit it through an as-built once it is finished.
Despite we are sure that the the benefits outweigh the effort, we are also aware of the difficulties of work with BIM. In most of the situations the external support is required, either timely or continuously. If our client could need specific tools for software optimizing, or find the way to automate those repetitive processes that require a lot of resources or just look for those improvements that helps to reduce cost and time, our experience in different programming languages compatible with the BIM software is essential. Phyton, C#, C++, Ruby, Dynamo, API de Revit, Grasshopper…these are complex tolos but its understanding enables us to make a quantitative and qualitative leap forward to future ways of construction project management.
Traditionally, the coordination of the proposals of each discipline on the work site involved in taking a chain of decisions that produced planning and budget imbalances. BIM allows us to resolve clashes and avoid conflicts. In that sense, there are different dimensions that reaches to 7D. The fourth dimensión (4D) adds the time factor to the model, allows us to relate each of the components with each works’ stage, so the planning is included inside the model. In the same way the fifth dimension (5D) adds the cost factor and generates the budget. The 4D and the 5D help us to evaluate the consquence in terms of time or money of each change and take the decisión on the coordination process previously to the begining of the construction of the building.
